Class Description

This workshop will focus on the fundamentals of fine art oil painting: value, composition, design, drawing, color theory and edges. Learning to see as an artists sees will be the goal. Judy will assist each student to move forward confidently with their painting skills as a beginner or intermediate student. This class will consist of demonstrations, lecture and plenty of painting time for each student. The class will paint alla prima, still life from live settings, indoor and outdoors as weather permits.

Class limit 15. Portable easel required.

“My goal as a representational fine artist is to create artwork that portrays the beauty of nature faithfully, honestly and to the best of my ability. I strive not for a photo realistic duplication of the scene before me, but to creatively and beautifully depict life and light as I see it regardless of subject matter. Color and form are tangible but elusive qualities in light. Learning to see requires work and commitment. My goal is to continually search for growth and vision to be the best that I can be. It’s a life long endeavor and a wonderful journey.
